Before
you buy anything, keep one simple rule in mind. If you’re teaming it up with
three other items it’s a saver. If not, then don’t entertain the idea of
purchasing it. A well known fact you all must know “Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees”.
1. Dry Cleaning Stupor
With up market and pricey
purchasing habits comes a lengthy maintenance bill. Wool, silk and velvet may
sound a bit fancy, but with them comes frequent dry cleaning visits,
effectively exalting the price of the overall cost of the product up to $3 to
$10 every few wears. Few! Give your wallet some breathing space and go for
materials or fabrics that have same voluptuous feel but can be easily thrown
into a laundry basket.
2. Stocking up
Yes, this is what takes
place when you finally come face to face with your long lost shopping wear, the
one you are desperately looking for. You eventually end up purchasing all the
colours and patterns of the same clothing. Little bit of carelessness now and
the years of regret afterwards. Are you sure of the fabric your are picking that
it will not shrink and fool you after one or two washes, or whether the fabric will pill, pull or fray.
Unless you are sure of these nits and bits you are better of picking one for a
trial.
3. Heart of the store shopping

How much you’ll be able to
bargain depends on which part of the store you’ll stalk first. Usually people
end up walking straight to the centre, where all expensive and premium things
are lined up. It is always preferred to first explore the entire premises of
the store especially the very back, where there are higher markdowns and then
scoop out the entire middle section if you want.
4. Disregarding the Rule of 3

The rule of 3 which
affirms “If you can wear it with at least three other items in your wardrobe,
it's a keeper. If not, skip it”. It is absolutely true and prominent in case
you are buying something extremely expensive and luxurious. What’s the so
called use of stocking up something if it does not go with something else;
you’ll probably wear it one or two times and dump it in the back of your
treasure.
5. Poor Maintenance of other
50%
The best and easy solution
to curb your shopaholic habits is to devote time in your wardrobe’s upkeep.
Interesting! But how much hours? As many hours as you spend shopping and
wasting money. So whether you are a once in a week goer or buy things twice or
thrice a week, cut your shopping hours in half. Give your now non-shopping time
to prim and proper your clumsy wardrobe. The repairs will cost something but
that’ll be much lower than what you spend during a day at the mall. Plus you
can’t ignore your newly wardrobe Accomplishment.
6.
Double and Triple Wardrobe Formula
When someone spots you and
comments “Don’t own a similar kind of sweater already? Bad news! Or “Hey I’ve seen you wearing this
skirt before also” I should have died. Moral of the comments: One is enough!
7. Imagining the Future of
your Wardrobe
“Ah! This is looking so much better with
this one”, “oh wow! These two colours will surely leave everyone swooning.”,
“Yes! I’ve never seen anyone carrying this kind of pattern before.”, “This is
what I am going to wear at my best friend’s Birthday”. OK Stop! All this pre planning
of creating over the top attires for future events and occasions will
definitely put a elephant sized hole in your pockets. Indulging yourself in
something is good, but drowning along the way ...Oh no!
8. Stick to the Ground Rules
Neutral clothes with muted
colours are the best to keep your costs down. But don’t overdo yourself in this
discipline. Soft colours will eventually complement best with vibrant and
patterned pieces. If you don’t have any one of it, you’ll torture yourself into
buying one, loosing huge wads of cash in the process. Keep in mind to stock up flamboyant
items in your closet whether they are ballet flats, scarves, statement
jewellery or trendy handbags. Well do keep in mind “The Rule of 3” also.
